In 2006, the Witold Dynowski Ethnographic Workshop Association (Stowarzyszenie „Pracownia Etnograficzna” im. Witolda Dynowskiego) was founded by students and graduates of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw (IEiAK UW). The organization carries out research, documentation, educational, and outreach projects, and also organizes, among other initiatives, the “Eyes and Lenses” Ethnographic Film Festival (“Oczy i Obiektywy”).
It is worth noting that the “Eyes and Lenses” festival itself was established earlier—the first edition took place in 2004 on the initiative of the “Etno” Student Research Circle at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology. The organization of the festival was later taken over by the Witold Dynowski Ethnographic Workshop Association.
