We received Category A in the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity

The discipline of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw has been awarded Category A in the 2022–2025 evaluation of the quality of scientific activity conducted by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. This is the second-highest category awarded to academic disciplines in Poland.

The result confirms the high quality of research carried out by our academic staff and doctoral researchers, as well as the discipline’s strong performance in scholarly publishing, securing research funding, and collaboration with the wider socio-economic environment.

Receiving Category A strengthens the discipline’s position, ensures stable public funding, and preserves its full academic rights, including the authority to award doctoral and postdoctoral (habilitation) degrees and to operate a doctoral school.
